2012 Queensland BJJ State Titles

This was my first BJJ tournament/competition in nearly 2 years. The last one I went in was late 2010 and I managed to win a Gold in Gi and Silver in No-gi in my weight category (I think it was under 66kgs?).

Miyao brothers tournament Highlight

Training BJJ & MMA with one arm

Well, not really training with the injured arm but more about training around it. Rest is important when recovering from an injury but once that period has passed and you’re in the rehab stages it’s quite important to do your exercises if you want to get the full use of your limbs back.

First flow roll

Keep on rolling baby

Had my first flow roll today in toooo long and now it’s just time to keep on rolling.

Surprise submission/attack from under side control

Here’s a nice reversal courtesy of BJJHacks.com and presented by Gordo Jiu Jitsu black belt Dennis Asche of Connectionrio.com. Great for side control escapes as it looks like one people wouldn’t expect because they’re in the dominant position. Just shows that even in “dominant” positions there is always a way out.
